COFFEE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE INTIMIDATING.

Coffee Man Founders - Nick (Left) and Devin (Right)

At Coffee Man, we’re committed to making coffee simple. Specialty coffee (also known as craft coffee) shouldn’t be mysterious, pretentious, or confusing. We believe everyone should have access to quality coffee, no need to be an expert.

It’s an extensive process for coffee beans to get from farm to friend (that’s you), but we’re here to educate you in a fun & whimsical way. And we promise to never use fancy words or complicated terms without explaining them!

We currently source our coffee beans from 5 different countries around the world. We source our Honduras coffee from Finca Terrerito in the Copan region. These beans are direct trade which meaning Coffee Man has a direct relationship with the farm. Our other coffees are imported through Ally Coffee due to their commitment to transparency and paying farmers livable wages.

 WHY COFFEE MATTERS

Most coffee is grown in developing countries and re-sold numerous times through middle men and 3rd party companies before it even make it to the States. Unfortunately, coffee farmers and farm hands are paid pennies on the dollar while others reap the financial benefits.

In reality, most coffee farmers do not earn enough income to sustain a family.

WHAT CAN YOU D0?

a lot more than you might realize.

It all starts with buying coffee sourced in a sustainable way. Terms like fair trade, whole trade, and direct trade mean that coffee farmers and workers are paid a livable wage.

Unfortunately, a lot of coffee you see in grocery stores are focused more on price than on sustainability and quality.

(You’ve probably heard about fair trade, but direct trade is one step further)

Fair trade has certifications and is more regulated while direct trade is less regulated. However, most farmers are paid higher wages through direct trade vs. fair trade.

It’s not always possible to source coffee through direct trade, but we’re committed to sourcing beans that are fair trade certified or direct trade as much as we can!

ROASTING WITH COFFEE MAN

We began roasting coffee in February 2021 with the help of Terminus Coffee. We’ve always wanted to roast our own coffee, but we’ve never had access to a roaster. Our good friend Lawrence Johnson (owner of Terminus) allows us to rent time every week on his machine. This allows us to control the quality of our cold brew from start to finish and also helps us keep our prices as low as we can!

Ain’t she pretty!
